I have just purchased a Marathon Navigator Stainless Steel, 1990 Issue and it seems to have a problem with the movement. I am in the UK!
I cannot seem change the time when i pull out the crown. When i do this, instead of the hands moving around as they should, nothing happens... there's a bit of squeaking and what sound like a teeth skimming over cogs sound. The when i depress the crown back into the case, prior to screwing it down (which it does, no problem) the hands move by about a 5 or 10 minute measure. Also, the second hands seems to stop intermittently... then start again.. then stop.
So... being a bit of a collector but by no means an expert mechanically ... i'm guessing i need to get the movement looked at - serviced/replaced maybe?
If i was to replace the movement... i'm believing it's an Harley Ronda cal. 373 (which i can source).. is this right?
Also, could anybody refer me to jeweller/watchmaker that could look at this for me and give me a synopsis of what i need to do to get this back up and running as it's a great piece which i definitely want to keep in my collection
Many thank in advance for any replies... Chris
