In Market for New Watch - Sold by Subc

I am in the market for a new watch as I just sold my SubC. That leaves me with my Nomos Orion 35mm, and a few g shock. So I have my travel/beach watch (G-Shock), and my dress watch, but need an everyday driver. I am a 30 year old attorney. Some days I’m in jeans and polo, others a full suit. I recently had my heart set on the Nomos club neomatik and the Oris 65 40mm but neither did it for me in person. The Club was a bit bulky looking in the case and didn’t sit well, and the oris domed sapphire didn’t appear to me.

What should I look at next? I like 42mm and under, at least 100m WR, and no leather.

I have my eye on the Monta Oceanking in Black/gilt/bracelet. Worried about the micro brand status, as well as not being able to handle in person. also love the Tudor heritage BB 41, but worry it isn’t sporty enough. That’s what I’m thinking a diver, a watch I can dress up or down for work. Any suggestions?

Well first, why did you sell the Sub?

You might try explaining why you sold your SubC as it seems like a pretty perfect fit already for what you say you want?

If a SubC didn't make you happy...

actually I do prefer the smaller, non-super case 5-digit Rolexes myself.

+1, that would be my recommendation until we know why he didn't like his SubC. I find modern Rolex with Maxi dial and super case to have lost the charm of the 5 digit cases.
So I'd say a 5 digit GMT Master II, Explorer II, Sub or Seadweller seems like the perfect fit here.

PS, 100M WR is good enough for anything.

There are a few reasons I decided to sell my submariner. The first reason is I just recently got married, and we are starting to look at houses, so I figured now is a good time to free up some cash. I figured this was a good way to free up some cash, while still having a little bit left over to buy a fine watch. Secondly, and more importantly, I just fell out of love. I didn’t like how the sub-c looked with dress shirts, and often felt bulky/too tall on my 7” wrist. Still love the watch, just felt like it was time to move along. $5k in the bank and $2k for a new watch, all while wearing the sub for 4 great years!

Probably looking at something like a Tudor Black Bay diver. They can be had for that range used. If you can stretch it a bit, I recommend Omega Seamaster 300 coaxial. Best watch in the world for $3500-3700 used.

Since I scratched the Nomos club and Oris 65 off list, I was looking at the Sinn 856 and the Monta Oceanking. Stinks I probably wouldn’t be able to try either on without buying
