    MING WATCHES: First-anniversary limited editions

    MING press release

On 15 August 2018, MING turns a year old. The fantastic support received from the horological community has allowed us to launch three different models, but we’re not done yet.

To celebrate our birthday, we’re presenting two anniversary models: the17.03 Ultra Blue and 17.03 Blue limited editions.

MING 17.03 Ultra Blue The Ultra Blue features a titanium case individually heat blued in-house by Ming Thein. Each case isunique due to the nature of the process; they show hints of purple, cyan and dark blue and continuously change character when handled.

The crown is engraved by hand. We fitted a new sunburst metallic bluedial, together with an updated sapphire ringand new satin bead blasted hands filled with Super-LumiNova.
Finally, the watch is completed with a hand made dark blue alcantara strap by Jean Rousseau Paris, and matching heat-blued titanium pin buckle.Like its siblings in the 17.03 line, the Ultra Blue is powered by the automatic Sellita SW330-1 with independently adjustable second time zone indicator, is adjusted in five positions and run through a 250-hour test program.

    MING 17.03 Blue

The second release fearures the same functionality, dial and hands as the Ultra Blue, but in our natural, brushed grade 2 titanium case.It alsoretains the same unique lugs that allow for both curved and straight springbar fitting.
It is limited to an edition of 125 pieces and includes two nubuck straps with buckles fitted (dark chocolate/ anthracite),an optional matching titanium quick-release bracelet, and a travel pouch by Thirtyfour Bespoke of Kuala Lumpur.

I like them (the Blue more so than the Ultra Blue) but I'm disappointed they didn't use Grade 5 titanium... Wonder why?
Well, I was standing on a corner in Winslow, AZ and Clara Oswald slowed down to take a look at me and my GS Tiffany SnowflakeTM...

I've never loved Ming at any price, and they seem to be headed north. They definitely seem to have found a niche though.

I don't like the design , the watches are not for me . BUT I do applaud them for finding their own aesthetic and making a great product .

I was quite impressed with a buddy's 17.03 GMT. I like this updated dial layout even more, I'm in for a blue dial.

I love this watch, and only yesterday added the burgundy-dialed variant to my Want List.
