Modern "trench" style watch. any suggestion?

I love the style, with the pseudo fixed lugs. But the one I know off don't fit the bill: Bell & Ross WW1, a little to expensive or the new Shinola Runwell, a quartz.

    Pics from Google:

Any other idea? Apart from Radiomirs... Mecc or auto, 500-1000$. You could always show others outside those criteria.

    Thanks!

If the wire lug style and retro pilot style dial appeals then hold out and save for for the Bell and Ross. The attention paid to design and finish is obvious and will be a real joy on tbe wrist. The Shinola looks decent but in comparison comes out a distant second.

I didn't realize the old shoe polish brand name had been repurposed for a variety of retro goods...cool. My first reaction was to recall the old saw: Don't know ...t from Shinola!

Nan, for 3k$ I could find a nice Omega SMP.

I like the style, but more for an alternative to the "classic" pilot look like everybody and their neighbor do. It's more like a trend or a novelty watch.

And with all the trend of vintage military watches right now (Pam, pilots, marine...). I'm wondering if there's more of this specific design.

The Hamilton Navy Pioneer can be had on places like Amazon for less than $800. Technically it's a deck watch homage but it gets an extra boost from the vintage-y name of the marque (it's a good brand too):

Dievas does some pretty good work in the PAM homage catagory with their Vintage collection. They're pretty big watches though.

Lol! Insert boy scout, consultant, brother in law, etc., etc., and wing tips. I wonder if the new owners of the Shinola brand are too young to know that some of us associate the name with shoe polish and a salty old saying?

We dont have that brand in the UK but was aware of the quote. I assumed it was a joke but apparently not.

I like the looks of this Hamilton. It is one of my favorite Hamilton offerings.

Yup. Handled one today and the detail work and finishing is first rate. It uses the 2892 sub-seconds derivative movement.
