    Montblanc Star Chronograph

    Hello watch lovers!

I registered here on this forum to ask a simple question about this watch.

It is made for their 100th anniversary, and I am wondering what would be the price for it, today?

A pre-owned, perfect condition, Montblanc Star Chronograph GMT Perpetual Calendar, how much would it cost?

Hi Molly - you'll be 'flogged' for asking for a valuation as it is against forum rules.

    Go to:

    Chrono24 - Luxury watches | buy watches | sell a pre-owned watch

Type in the make and model and you might get a good idea.

    Regards and Welcome to WUS.

Hi Gets, thank you for your answer. Sadly, I wasn't able to find this watch on that website.

And I am sorry for violating forum rules.

Yes, of course I tried that :)

It's a limited edition watch so I guess that's why it's so hard to find something more than a general article about it :/

Antiquorum specializes in auctions for rare and high value time pieces, and sold one of these in 2007. You can see the description and what it sold for HERE and HERE. Today (six years later) it would probably sell for less than it did in 2007, but you never know... it's all about supply and demand, and there isn't enough of a track record for this one to have a good answer.

If you're looking for a comp to rationalize an offer to a seller, one sold at an Antiquorum auction in 2007 (the year after the release) for a fairly modest $13,570. I believe they were originally offered at substantially more than that. I don't see any in the auction catalogues after that. Whether it has gone up or down in value is difficult to determine. I'd be curious to know the value of one of the only three that were made in platinum.

I don't particularly like the looks of that, but that is certainly one nifty complication...

BrentYYC, aardvarkbark: thank you very much for your quick helpful replies.

Even though I'm still curious would the price be lower or higher than it was in year 2007.

mpalmer, I'm not sure I understand what you wanted to say!
