    Montblanc Timewalker MSRP?

I want to know what the average price of a Montblanc Timewalker with a gator strap and with a stainless steel strap is. I have seen prices from $1800 to even $4800! I am going to add this to my long term list. What movement does it use?

The chrono on steel and alligator both retail for over $4000 and you can typically get them on the internet for between $3300-$3900 new. Ebay used go for $1500-$2750 depending on the seller and condition. Movement is:

    • Calibre: Montblanc 4810/502
    • Movement type: Automatic chronograph, hour - minute - small second, Subsidiary indications: 12 hour and 30 min. totalisers, stop second
    • Frequency/Jewels: 28,800/h, 27 jewels

Today i went to the montblanc boutique... The Large automatic sold for $5000!! The Ghrono was $6000! To put that into perspective, a rolex perpetual date here is $5600! Are rolex and montblanc comparable in quality?

    Rolex has in-house movements.

I've always wondered what that meant to other people, because it means nothing to me. Why is that such a big deal to some? I mean, if Rolexes movements are superior it doesn't necessarily or logically have anything to do with them being produced in-house - that I can see.

Already 2200 posts on WUS and you don't know what an in-house movement means to a collector ?

    Quantity over quality, Mike.

I would never spend that kind of dough on a Montblanc watch. I don't feel they're worth the cost. Plenty of other great watches for that money.

    I agree.

No comparison in quality, history, reputation, or toughness.

I toyed with the Montblanc watches at the dealer and they do not feel 'real'.

    Kind Regards
