    Movement ID Help needed - Longines Vintage HW

    Hi Guys,

    I have a strange interest in perhaps picking up a vintage at some point. Hoping it will pass.

    Can anyone help ID this Longines Houndwound Movement circa 1945? A wus buddy of mine has a Longines with this movement, and I have one I am looking at, and we have both come up empty on solid info.

    Any help form our movement gurus around here would be much appreciated.

    Looks like a Longines 12L

    Data
    12''', Dm= 27mm
    H= 4.25mm
    17/17 jewels
    f = 18000 A/h
    power reserve 40h

    OK so the Calibre mystery is solved.

    Anything worth noting about this movement? Even with the Calibre identified, not a ton of info on the net.

    I have a 12L, and mine is different. do your watches have central seconds hands or subdials?

    Mine has a central seconds hand, and there is a wheel elevated above the plate to achieve this.

    here's a pic of a 12L from ranfft's database:

    Yours is a 12.68z.

    | HKED Bund| Casio Riseman |1940's Bulova Tank | Orient Black Mako | Helm Vanuatu v2 | 60's Benrus Auto |
    I got out of watches for a long time, but I'm coming back!

    The 12L has center seconds, the 12.68Z sub seconds. Also the 12.68 was used as a basis for a flyback. They all were essentially the same movement with minor modifications (jeweling, gear train).
