Hi guys,
So it's been a while since I joined and it's also been a steep learning curve and tbh I'm still climbing and have a long way to go!
I've read some immense (in every sense of the word) posts and seen amazing photos of a broad spectrum of watch collecting and it's been really interesting and educational.
Anyway I feel it's been remiss of me not to post a SOTC yet. So to remedy that here's my 1st SOTC (plus it's a chance to post some pics of my new watch box!)
Watchbox:
And drawer (woohoo!):
The Collection:
My Omega SMPc :
Starting with my first 'proper' watch and one I'll keep for ever as it was a 40th Birthday present.
Which is now on an Omega Rubber:
Love everything about this watch and could easily be, to my mind, a one watch only solution.
My Tudor sub:
recently serviced by Duncan at Genesis and with a new insert, still got the old one so can swap back to this look:
A gorgeous watch, it's a 1986 Tudor 76100 with blue dial and lovely creamy plots - and again a keeper.
My Seiko 6309-7040 MCWW Mod:
Jake from Motor City Watch Works (MCWW) did a splendid mod on this watch and I love the bullet-proof nature it, it's been my daily wearer most days and still looks incredible, unfortunately though this has today Sold and will be on it's way to it's new owner soon.
It will be missed!
My Grand Seiko SBGM023:
This watch is just amazing and so well made - love the dial variation in colour from cream to silver in different lighting, this is my dress up watch and it's (now) a keeper lol!
The reason I laugh is that I've tried to sell it a couple of times, simply to release funds for other incomings, and recently had 2 buyers for it BUT SWMBO says it's her favourite as do my daughters so I'm not allowed to sell it .... EVER!
(Which is fine by me)
My Zenith 410 Limited Edition:
My latest purchase, you may have seen my thread about it recently.
Sufficed to say an amazing watch and the most expensive in my collection - another keeper I feel!
Lastly my Timex ironman, a legacy hang over from when I used to run:
Still used for when I occasionally play football.
I have one more incoming (a Prospex Monster) and will update later on that, I've also had a few others come and go in my time here including a 16610LV, a normal 16610 and a new version black monster.
To be fair I never imagined I would ever spend so much on watches but this can be an expensive hobby but as I'm not a big flipper, hopefully I wont lose too much in this insane pursuit!
Who knows what the future holds but I have a few others that one day I'd love to own however I think I'm done spending (for the moment at least).
Cheers
