    My First Swiss Watch

    Hello,

I would like to ask people who are more experienced than me on swiss watches. I have three Seiko watches and I would like now to buy a Swiss one. I love all my Seikos but I want a Swiss automatic too.

I have a 7 inch wrist and my budget is at maximum 500€.

Any suggestions? I want a reliable swiss movement. I love ellegance on the looking side but I care more for the movement.

I love dress watches most but I won't say no to a good diver.

Please help me because I'm lost on the search.

    Thank you.

Certina Powermatic should be right in your budget:

Thanks for your post. The DS Podium is an amazing watch. Do you own one?

My first Swiss watch was a Tissot Visodate, which I still own and love. I wear it regularly, at least one day per week. You can buy them brand new for less than $500. I think it's a great value, and I would highly recommend it as an entry-level Swiss watch.

At that price you're looking at an ETA 2824 or SW200. Solid movements. Check out Hamilton for around $500 and for a bit more you can get into Oris.

A good place to get model numbers and prices is Jomashop since they got a huge selection.

I love that particular Certina, but I think it's discontinued, though still available, I think. A bit too dressy for me, but what a great dial. Would be even better with a black date wheel, though.

Or Hamilton Intra Matic if you want really dressy and can deal with not having a seconds hand (also in steel):

That's a beauty! Have you measured lug to lug? I would like to learn this measurment.

How about a diver? Does anyone knows a good diver at this price point? I noticed the Steinhart Ocean One 39. What do you think guys about Steinhart?
