My new Christopher Ward C40 Speedhawk :)

So my Christmas gift watch finally made into my hands today and I am feeling great. I’ve lusted after this Christopher Ward C40 Speedhawk for a year and I can confidently say I’ve attained one of my grails with owning it. Below are the specs from the website.

    . > 25 Jewel Swiss automatic chronograph
    . > Etachron regulator system
. > 3 counter multi-function chronograph (hours, minutes and stop second)
. > Uni-directional rotating bezel and internal tachymeter
    . > Day / date calendar
. > Convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating
    . > Screw-in crown
    . > Water resistant to 50m (5 atm)
    . > Adjustable quick-release butterfly clasp
. > PVD Black surgical grade stainless steel case
    . > Peregrine-shaped counterbalance
    . > Diameter: 42mm
    . > Height: 16mm
    . > Weight: 170g
    . > Calibre: ETA 7750 Valjoux
    > Vibrations: 28,800 per hour

I had pretty high expectations based on feedback from others but I have to stay this watch has completely blown me away. The fit and finish is flawless…the weight is perfect and it just looks stunning…the pictures were great but in person it’s a whole new ballgame. The black PVD is dark but looks rich at the same time and the contrast of the black, red and white on the face constantly puts a smile on my face. (pictogram for emphasis..ha ha) The matte texture on the pushers and crown feels top notch and the anodized red on the pushers just add to the overall sporty impression. And don’t even get me started on the peregrine shaped counterbalance! Ok..I’m going to say it…I am LOVING this watch… just wow. I’m having a hard time putting what I feel into words so I’ll just end with this… this watch is a full course of AWESOME with a side of WHEW HOO! On to the pics!(which do NOT do it justice).

    Thanks for looking,
    Shawn

Very, very nice! Congrats and use it in the best of health!
I like CW's products very much and this one appears even more exceptional than the ones I already know.
I consider this an outstanding 7750 buy and look forward to owning one myself....and you've just made the wait for one all the more difficult.

Thanks for the nice comments guys...appreciate it. EVH- the value for this movement is incredible...it's a big part of what attracted me to this watch. CW really does make some pretty awesome watches for affordable prices...I definitely see more of them in my collection in the future. :)

Congrats! Awesome looking C. Ward, I owned one for a short time and was really impressed with the quality!! (wrong color dial, or I would've kept it for sure!)

Great pics and an awesome looking watch. I'd seriously consider doing the patriotic thing and getting one for myself if it wasn't too big for my skinny wrists.
