    My New Grand Seiko Quartz

Yesterday, I received the Grand Seiko Quartz (SBGX061) that I ordered from Chino Watch Co., Ltd. (CHINO WATCH). I was looking for an elegant and understated watch that I could wear to the office as well as travel with comfortably. My budget was $3,000.

I had read much about Grand Seiko and this watch, in particular. I contacted Chino Watch which quoted a price of $1,890 which included shipping and PayPal fees. I immediately ordered the watch and it arrived 6 days later. I found communication with Chino Watch excellent and I will not hesitate to order from it again.

When I received the watch I was prepared to find a quality Seiko timepiece with an excellent quartz movement. I was not prepared to find such a high level of quality in a watch under the $2K price point. It's fit and finish are clearly a full step higher than my Rolex (116200) and Omega Speedmaster Professional. The bracelet and clasp are extremely well designed and finished. The case is beautifully machined and polished. It's not hard to imagine that there was more hand finishing on this piece than my Rolex or Omega. The weight of the watch is also impressive and, subjectively speaking, adds to it's quality feel. And it looks beautiful - it's 37mm case fits perfectly on my 7 1/2 inch wrist.

The fact that it has a quartz movement does not detract from this watch at all. I enjoyed setting it to U.S. Naval Observatory Master Clock Time and I'll be sure to track the movement's accuracy over the next few months and verify GS's +/- 10 sec spec.

I've never been so impressed with a watch. It's value to performance ratio is absolutely stunning.

Lovely watch, congratulations. I think the presence of the Seiko GQ movement adds significantly to the value of your watch. It's exceptionally well designed and is one of the most world's most accurate.

Really nice, I have one just like it, you should see what it looks like on a black croc....just filthy.
That's about the best price your going to get on a new one, and a used one, if you can find that one (very popular) would only be a couple hundred less.

    Good luck with it.

Thank god GS does not make one of these sans date for this price. Did you hear me GS, thanks for not making a DATELESS version. I'd have to buy one of every color dial, so thank you GS for not doing it. do it, do it.......

Also thank god they do not make a version with a perpetual calendar date and independent hour hand so one need not ever adjust it.

Black electrical tape, it works on dashboard warning lights.
