My quandary: Luminox 6502 B.O. - Aye or Nay

Friends, bear with me & pray listen to my tale.
I'm in a bit of a bind. It goes like this - my wife, while being very tolerant of my hobby, has been rather cavalier when it comes to using her watches. She's the 'use 'em n trash 'em' kinda person who strictly bought quartz beaters. However, the constant presence of nice lookin' watches being paraded under her nose by yours truly has piqued her interest in matters horological.
To cut to the chase, she now wears my watches. What does she like in an automatic? To quote, " It's the smooth sweep of the seconds hand and the sight of the intricate innards of a skeleton watch/ open case back", unquote.
Well now, she's ready to buy her very own automatic. We dropped by yesterday at my AD's to buy me an SRPC95 (another story for later) & she set her eyes on a Luminox 6502 Black Out on a super soft leather strap. An all black affair. About 1k USD. Sellita movt, tritium tube illumination, pvd (I think) coating. This is her Christmas project.

Now, my question is, should we go ahead with this purchase or not? For me, Luminox was those quartz, bright colored, mil spec watches for youngsters. My wife's a Doc, just turned 40, but more the jeans & tee kind. She likes a diver style watch, has a 6.25-6.5 inch wrist.

I find it so easy to advise the world on what watches to buy. So also, I have a clear idea about my likes & dislikes, but for the life of me can't help my wife choose a watch.
I want her first watch buying experience to be good. Our budget's about 1k usd.

So, the bottom line, is the Luminox 6502 a decent watch for the money? Anybody who has used one? Your experiences and feedback reg this watch are crucial. There's hardly anything on the web.
if not, any alternatives in this price range?

    Thanks in advance.
P.S. I didn't post any pics coz of copyright issues. Forgot to take one at the AD yest.

Here you go. I’ve had this tagged in an Amazon wish list for like 2 years. Pretty sweet. Maybe I’ll move it into the cart one of these days.

Personally I'd advice you to go with a watch without pvd coating because if your wife is rough on the watch (and the coating isn't that good) the watch will look ugly pretty soon

It's not a matter of the brand but any blackout watch will have poor legibility too and people do get tired of it soon

I'm giving these pointers so you can explain to your wife without ended up living in the doghouse
