My very first Grand Seiko & thank you WUS

Heard of the Grand Seiko for a very long time but didn't come across to research it. Last month was shopping in a mall in Thailand (I live in Thailand) and came across a watch fair so just browsing around came across this very elegant watch a Grand Seiko (SBGA093). After about a month had some time googled to do some research and happened to come into watchuseek website. The more I read about Grand Seiko here the more I am convinced to get the SBGA093.

So last Sunday went back to Siam Paragon mall after paying for the SBGA093 the sales assistant showed me a SBGH013 Hi-Beat 36000. I've got no idea what he meat by a Hi-Beat anyway I was attracted to the beige colour dial and the brown leather combined to make the whole watch so "rustic" I couldn't resist it so I bought it as well.

When I came back into WUS to read about the watch and about Hi-Beat I thought I's made a great decision. Gosh I'm so happy. I wish to thank contributors here who had helped me make the right decision and directed me to be more knowledgeable in a great brand the Grand Seiko. I'm now very very excited to wear them on a daily basis and so far past few days there were already 6 people who asked me about what I am wearing on my wrist when I told them its a Seiko they were shock but I'd explained its actually a Grand Seiko a few of them told me they'd understand me as they also know my love for Lexus over European.

    So this is it

    The SBGA093

    The SBGH013

I've done some more research here and I thought I like the GMT the SBGJ001 and a SBGA125 which is part of the 55th 62GS anniversary collection and asked the Thai retailer to reserve both watches for me till I get back to Bangkok next weekend from my traveling in Indonesia.

    Question:
which have the smoother second sweep, the Spring Drive or Hi Beat?

Very nice. Why not consider the SBGJ013 instead of the SBGJ001 ?

Congratulations!!! Can't go wrong with Grand Seiko. However it might get expensive if you buy two at a time all the time! ;)

Thank you sea0bass for the suggestion. I just looked into the SBGJ011/013 series and compared to the SBGJ001/005 I still like the SBGJ001 for two reasons (1) the dial design I prefer and (2) for the GMT I'd prefer the heavier stainless steel material.
