I'm sure people will tell you that its a great way to make a "great watch look cheap" but I think that it looks really awesome. The bracelet is beautiful too, but I would be worried about scratching it.

To Nato, or not to Nato: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The scratches and wear of outrageous fortune,
Or to deploy something cheaper against a sea of troubles,
And by switching to nylon ...end them?

    Actually that looks surprisingly good!
Mind you, I think a good nato strap can really make a 5513 amd 1680, or 16800 look great so it's not that far a strech.

That Nato strap looks tacky and cheap. Go croc leather if you want a black strap.

I like it and frankly a croc leather strap on a watch like that would look out of place to me. I would put a croc leather strap on a dress watch- nothing else.

You are right, perhaps not a croc leather strap, but get a leather strap nonetheless. A stressed brown strap would look slick. Also Nato, or any nylon strap, are filthy and stink after a while. May as well wrap a dirty dish rage around your wrist before you go out.

That black Nato on that Rolex looks (to use the venacular of the youth) totally awesome. In fact, to me, it looks like the Nato should
be on there. Sometimes we should (or at least want to) step outside of the box once in a while and move against the status quo. I may be 60 years old, but I have not lost (at least not completely) my rebellious nature that was nurtured in the 60's.

I think there are a few watches on which a NATO is naturally complementary to the watch, with both military-themed watches and divers IMO at the top of a rather short list. Your GMT - while neither - has a look with what I would consider to be influences of both, and I personally think it looks tool-ish enough to carry a NATO, though IMO it looks better on the bracelet.
