Need help deciding on a military style watch!

I'm rounding out my collection with a military style watch, and have narrowed it down to a few options that i'd love your input on. My search parameters have been:

    1. 38mm or under case size
    2. Black dial with arabic numerals and classic styling
    3. Water resistance of at least 50m
    4. Mechanical or meca-quartz movement
    5. Under $2k
    6. A watch that can take a little bit of a beating. This won't be my 'beater' watch per say, but I do want to be able to wear it outdoors without much worry.

Here's what I've got so far. Let me know which you would choose, or if there's another piece I should consider!

    -Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical
-Weiss 38mm Standard Issue Field Watch
-IWC 3741 Flieger Chronograph (with meca-quartz movement)

The Hamilton out of those three.

Interesting choice on #3, btw...kinda obscure but good.

The Hamilton hand wind would be my choice.

I like all three, but the Hamilton is in first place.

I don't really follow the price but what about Tudor Ranger? Was about to suggest Rolex 14000 but I think the current price has already gone beyond 2k

Of the three I like the Hamilton better

Re: Need help deciding on a military style watch!

Having owned both Hamilton and Weiss watches, Weiss has a superior build quality, a fantastic slab of sapphire on both sides, 100M water resistance, and is hand assembled in California using a modified Peseux 7001 movement. The Khaki ETA 2801 is a great movement with excellent specs, but it’s in every field watch, and is boring. Weiss’s OEM strap is Kevlar and nylon w/a signed buckle, while the Khaki is just a NATO. I love the Khaki OEM strap on the previous generation of the 38mm mechanical; wonder why they changed?

Pic of my first 42mm Weiss; I ordered my 38mm Cal 1005 3 weeks ago ... 2 weeks to go!

On the other hand, the Khaki is half the cost of the Weiss and you can have it delivered by Tuesday. I think the Weiss is worth the money and the wait; there’s a premium for Weiss not being a mass produced Swatch that is 49% made in China. I would also add that the Weiss is more of a GADA, while the Khaki has “mil-spec” written all over it.

On the other other hand, I’d get that IWC in a heartbeat over both the Hammy and the Weiss. Where are you finding that for $2k? IWC uses meca-quartz movements? I’m so intrigued!
