    Question Need help finding a nice quartz

    Here's what I'm looking for; it's been forever and I've yet to really come across it. If anyone has anything in mind, please let me know!

    * Quartz (I've got an automatic, want to make my next watch something different)
    * Quality (domed sapphire, nice build, lume, etc)
    * Casual/Field/Pilot/etc (something with Arabic numerals and very not busy; I almost never dress formal)
    * Under $600
    * 40-44mm face
    * As thin as I can get away with (not a fan of thick watches banging on everything in my house and generally getting in the way)

    That's a lot, I know! But it still doesn't seem unreasonable... yet I can't find it. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

    There are so many options that I can't just pick one. Just keep on browsing and you should find mangling candidates. Sorry for not being helpful.

    No sapphire crystal but I just recently purchased the Bulova 'Classic' chrono. Love the UHF quartz mvt and has nice fit/finish at just 130 USD. Uses the same mvt as their Moonwatch which looks even better and is < 600USD. Unobtrusive Arabic numerals, (somewhat weak) but long lasting lume was a plus for me. I'm big on sweeping movements so I personally wouldn't get any other quartz in this price range.

    OP the Hamilton Khaki also comes in a bunch more variations that meet your criteria. Personally I like the green day date version on a NATO.

    Victorinox in general should have quite a few.

    Tissot: Tradition, Coutourier, and possibly PR 100 and PR 100 COSC. The latter is 39...but it's also COSC-certified quartz. Good to about 2 seconds a month. And nice and clean face:

    1. Go to
    2. Look at my signature and see Certina
    3. Search for Certina on Jomashop (or any other site really but they have good prices).
    4. Many of their models offer high end quartz for 2-300 bucks and they punch well above their weight...
    5. They all offer Sapphire, good construction, nice movements, 100m WR, and impressive F&F

    Victorinox Officer Day/Date. Good build quality, 40mm, super thin at around 9mm, sapphire AR crystal but not domed.

    Only downfall is lume is subpar.
