Need help purchasing a formal watch

Hey people, i'm looking forward to purchase an affordable dress watch which can be worn on business casual events. I have narrowed down to this 2 watches, the tissot visodate and the Federique constant classic. Any input guys?

I like the Breguet-like looks of number 1. However, is this watch going to see mostly formal situations, or mostly busines casual situations? If it's going to consistently see business casual situations, it might be a touch too dressy. JMHO.

I don't know enough to comment on anything other than the aesthetics of these watches, but I strongly prefer the Tissot.

I like the Tissot's day/date function, but more importantly, it has clean and classic, yet contemporary, lines that evoke something like a Vacheron Constantin Patrimony. By contrast, the Roman numerals, dizzying concentric circles, moon hands, and guilloche-esq engraving of the Frederique Constant feel like a confused and misguided take on a Breguet Classique. Keep it simple – go with the Tissot.

There's a difference between understated and plain. I find the Visodate plain.
I've never seen the F. Constant in the flesh, but from the picture, it looks pretty nice. Umm, adorned but not overstated.

I don't think it's too dressy, but I've never been clear on what "business casual" means.
If you wear gym shorts and flipflops to the office, yeah, it's too dressy. Slacks and shirt, (maybe) jacket, sans tie? Certainly not.

Thanks for the input guys. Business casual such as a polo Ts, Jeans, Blazers? Think the FC is too formal?

Well i'm looking for a watch that i'll keep in my collection. I'm not into flipping watches.

The FC would be my pick. I've seen this watch in the flesh. It's quite nice.

IMO the Frederique Constant classic is fine for any formal or semi-formal occasion.

Go for the FC. The rule is it's better to be overdressed than underdressed.

Both are great choices. I believe that the Vissodate is very popular in these parts. It would be my choice.
