    Need some advice

Ok, my question is a two part question...

    1. Do internet retailers, such as jomashop.com and others, offer quality watches? I've always wondered about purchasing from internet retailers. I mean you can never tell when you could be buying a fake. So, I was wondering what your experiences and input might be on internet retailers. If you happen to have one that you use and have had positive experiences please post them up.

    2. Do any of you have an Omega AD that you can recommend that you have had good experiences with? I'm in the market for a PO and would like to find one that provides competitive prices with good service.

    Thanks in advance.

    John

    John,

I will send you the contact info via email on our Omega AD. They are very good to work with. Also this Friday and Saturday they are having a 50% off sale on select watches. I do not know if the PO is included or not but worth a try.

Absolutely zero chance a PO will be 50% off from an AD or gray market.
Plenty of good gray market dealers btw.
I'm very pro gray market and hence I'm looked down on in the "better" forums

    Re: Need some advice

Non AD sellers/watches are commonly called "gray market".
They usually acquire their stock on the "down low" from AD's overstock at wholesale prices and re-sell them.
Sometimes the serial #'s are removed, you don't want that and should inquire beforehand.
You often (never?) won't get manufacturer's warranties but they often offer a comparable or better warranty, just not thru the manufacturer.

I can't vouch for any of the others, but I've had great success with Alan Furman Jewelers and I did get the factory warranty with the TAG Heuer Monaco I purchased from them because the warranty card was signed and dated by the original AD.

    Re: Need some advice

Grey Market dealers are worth the discount, for the most part. I agree 100% with the points made by Tragic. However, for the coin you are going to drop on a Planet Ocean, i'd rather go to a LOCAL AD. I'd spend an extra 15-20% and have that manufacturers warranty for that lil baby. If you have any issues, you can go right back in there, in person. Thats just my opinion, tho.

There's plenty of Grey Market watch dealers that are reputable, for low to mid priced watches. Even for high-end, too. But i guess it would boil down to how comfortable you'd feel about your big (in my little world) purchase. Far as i know, the one you mentioned, Jomashop, is one of the better ones out there.

    Re: Need some advice

Thanks for all the info and advice guys. I'm still doing some research and am waiting a call-back from a local AD. We'll see how things go.
