I'm looking to purchase a new watch to celebrate the birth of my first child. I'm looking for something that I can hopefully and eventually pass down to him. I've had my eye on the Tudor Heritage Ranger for a while now but am not 100% sold after seeing it in person and trying it on. The size is right and the style is what I'm looking for but I would very much prefer date complication. The leather strap (not bund) is the version I would purchase. I have also looked at and tried on the Hamilton Khaki Field in 38mm but that is a little small for my taste with a wrist of about 7.25 inches. I know these watches are a bit different in their price points but I'm mostly concerned with getting the best value.
Some other thoughts are that I am also not sure on the idea of paying close to $3k for a Tudor with ETA movement when the Hamilton was about $400 with a similar ETA movement. I have considered taking another step up in price points with the Pelagos but that also strays from my original intent of leather strap. Looking for thoughts and suggestions on other models to consider. Thanks!!
