At under $200 you should be looking at Seiko, Orient, and Citizen watches.

Seagull too. I've heard good things about them. Though I don't know how the OP will take to being recommended something Chinese. A lot of people have erroneous preconceptions about Chinese products, and do not know that there are a handful of high quality Chinese watchmakers.

depends how you want to present yourself,

the brands mentioned are all great options ... might want to take a look at pre-owned as well,

reminds me of a story, a friend of mine was going for an interview, the interviewer was an older gentleman from the UK (likely to be her manager as well), her step dad gave her his Vertex WWW watch to wear for the interview.
I dont think the guy noticed, or maybe he did but didnt mentioned it, but imagine the conversation (and the impression) they could have if he did notice the watch

so it kinda also depends on how you want to present yourself

Welcome to the forum. I agree that you should be looking at Seiko, Orient and Citizen. If you want something casual yet smart how about a Orient Ray, a great watch for the price and easily within budget.

If you want something a bit more dressy then Seiko do some nice white faced dress watches that might fit the bill.

Yes, I believe that Sea-Gull actually has better dress watch more and better options in this price range than Seiko or Orient. Seiko and Orient, however, are far better in the diver/sports watch categories than Sea-Gull.
