    New Hamilton Watch!

Hey guys, I'm super excited. I just got a new pocket watch in the mail today!

It's a Hamilton 12 Size, Grade 912, 17 jewel, open face pocket watch. 14k gold filled.

The dial is obviously a little dirty. Haven't decided if I'll keep it dirty and vintage or try to find a place to restore it professionally.

It still winds, sets, and works.

Sorry for the blurry pics, left my DSLR at school when I came home for the weekend.

Best part of all is the price: $60.

    :)

    That's cool.

If we were talking about a $600 or $6000 watch, I'd think harder about leaving it like it is, but considering it's not worth a lot of money, I'd have it restored and use it regularly.

I'm no restoration expert, but it seems like it would be worth more restored anyway.

Well, to restore the whole thing would result with a lot of the paint faded away. Some guys have note elsewhere that even rubbing the dial with a Qtip and a little water rubbed away the paint.
So then it would need to be repainted. I'm no expert either, but I'd think that an aftermarket paint job would decrease value. Not sure though, just a thought.
