New Montblanc Perpetual Skeleton in steel

Ok, on one hand, if you take the logo away, i wouldnt be able to tell if it is a Montblanc or a Zenith or a Tag.

But... very nicely done. The first skeleton dial that i really liked. And it removes the "scowling face" aesthetic of the MB perpetual with those too-close-to-each-other dials.

    I like a lot!

I like it, plus it is reasonably priced, too.

    Well done, MontBlanc.

Not a fan of skeleton watches. But this one is very well done.

    I like a lot!
So true about the aesthetic of the centrally crowded sub dials of the MB first Perpetual Calendar

The Skeleton dial is a lot nicer.

For a skeleton, I like it. I actually love the way they did the textured(?) moon graphic with the blue surrounds (I’ll have to take a close look at their other moon phase watches now, I like it that much). Alas...the reality for me is that there’s no way I’d be able to read it under normal circumstances...but I’m with ya’, it’s one of the few skeletons I find attractive.

I really admire Montblanc designs more and more. You certainly can identify the root inspiration, but there's a hint of courage and specificity that is very welcome, like a breath of fresh air among the "Dinosaurs". Plus their watches are relatively well-priced, they could use their worldwide reputation to overprice but no, IMO you get a lot of watch for the money. I wouldn't be surprised the goal of Richemont group with MB is to take market shares from the Rolex/Omega customer base and I'm inclined to think they'll succeed more and more.

I agree, they seem to be firing on all cylinders. If they can make a skeleton I like they're doing something right. I agree they seem to have a cohesive aesthetic with their new stuff as well.

This post got me looking at Montblancs again (always dangerous), and I ran across this one from their Heritage Chronometrie series. Hadn't seen it before, but it's another beauty, and 40mm. Under $2k grey market new.
