I wanted a step up from my Orient Automatic. Now don't get me wrong, I love my Orient, but I wanted a Swiss automatic. I priced them out and almost decided on a Steinhart, GMT. I love the look and I love the quality, but I was a little short on cash. I had been looking at Ollech and Wajs, and had heard they were a solid watch. They met most of my criteria:
- Sub face
- Swiss ETA 2824-2 movement
- Diver rated to at least 200 Meters
- Solid reputation from those who wear and collect watches
So I go to Gnomon and love their selection. Good communication and good prices but still, I was a little low on cash, so I looked on westcoastime.com and saw that they had many, many O&W watches. I found an awesome one that had the ETA movement, the sub face, a nice SS bracelet, for under $300. Unfortunatly Mr. Marx was sold out. So he showed me the O&W K-2. It's a little stockier than the other O&W's, but it was still under $300 so I bought it as well as a Bond, Maratac, Zulu strap (3 ring).
I just got my new watch today and immediatly hated the SS bracelet. It was too small and too feminine for a "manly" watch. Thank God I bought the Bond strap. Here are the pics. I highly reccomend Howard Marx at westcoastime.com. He has some good things there. Here is my new watch.
No review just yet, but so far i am loving the ETA 2824-2!! Sounds so nice and looks very smooth. Also it has a hacking function!! Yes!!
