New Seamaster 300 - Back to the 90s (Another Basel thread)

Quite surprised to note that the new Seamaster 300 has not departed from the 90s aesthetic. Although at times I have warmed to them, I have always thought this particular stable of Seamasters would not age that well. Omega will tell you that they have been their best sellers, but of course the birth of the modern Bond association with this SM has a lot to do with that.

    So what do we think?
Is this going to be the new "retro", looking to the 80s and 90s perhaps as opposed to the 50s and 60s?

I was wearing flannel in the 90's and now it's back in! So I think you're on to something!

The 80s and 90s are definitely "in."

Not digging that watch, but it might look better in person (ala the "garage door" ATs, which look dodgy in photos but decent in real life).

If they made one without date, I would have one. And it would be a keeper.

I actually like the date placement.

I like it. The redesigned hands look good too. Now, if Omega came out with a re-edition of the Omega 1000m, I'd be in great trouble.

There is a no date one, but it's limited and kind of ugly. Titanium grey tone and rose gold. But that indicates there may eventually be regular no-date models.

In general, I like this update to the line. I HATED the last version with no dial waves. 42mm is probably no good for me though... I would have been sold at 40mm. Kinda sad.

Me too. I wish they would get rid of the helium valve though. I know it's a Seamaster thing, but I think it's ugly.

Lots to like about the new SM! I'm tempted...
Well, I was standing on a corner in Winslow, AZ and Clara Oswald slowed down to take a look at me and my GS Tiffany SnowflakeTM...

Kind of reminds me of the Seamaster Rio. Not really a good thing in my opinion.
