New TAG Heuer Autavias with Carbon Hairsprings

TAG Heuer just released 5 beautiful new vintage-styled Autavias, all 42mm, with blue and gray dials. Despite their classic appearance, these all feature TAG's new carbon composite hairspring!

Each is between $3,500 and $3,950, depending on whether it has a bracelet. Personally, I'd have the blue dial on bracelet.

Like these much better than the other thread with the new Tudor's........Whow!

But still too much text on the dial. The three lines look out of place by the date wheel, IMHO.

Still, better than the Tudor's and I am not a Tag brand guy.

Is the 42mm a case or bezel measurement?

Not usually a Tag fan, but these are dope.

They’re nice looking watches but the name on the dial is a deal killer for me. Don’t get the impression that I’m some sort of unthinking TAG hater but they made some horrible looking watches back in he day and it scarred me for life.

Piggybacking on sticky's post above, I think the "Heuer" branding of the heritage line would have suited this watch much better given the classic design style. Otherwise I don't hate these, but they also don't sing to me in a way that will send me rushing out to buy one. That being said, I do look forward to seeing some real world pics.

EDIT: I just noticed that there are also two bronze versions (green/brown dials), which is certainly intriguing.

They look very nice and I'm not big into dive watches. In spite of the flak Tag gets, here is an example of horological innovation with the carbon hairspring. Will that really makes a difference in time-keeping or reliability? I don't really know. Hard to get past that hefty price "tag" though...

Huh, I thought the Autavias were only gonna be branded as "Heuer."
Although I have less of an aversion to the TAG being added, since it's the only brand that means anything to my non-WIS friends aside from Shinola and Garmin.
Pretty nice looking watch, perhaps already my favorite 3-hander TAG ever, and that's just from the pictures.
    Love that big crown too.

The carbon should act like the silicon hairsprings in that they don't deviate much from one cycle to the next, so that will create a more consistent rate. Reliability is TBD on a new product, however.

As with all TAG's the price is subject to a nice discount, so there is that

With Lint they are meh for me. I personally dislike the numbers and script on the dial.
