    New victorinox

    Hello all,

First post....so I’ve been wearing automatic watches for years. I just purchased a quartz Victorinox 241649. The seconds hand tics dead on in relation to the marked dial between seconds 1 through 40. However, between 41 and 60, the seconds hand tics a little before the numbers on the dial.

Should I be expecting this on my watch? Or is this an aesthetic defect?

    Thank you!

    Keith

The same thing occurs on mechanical wind watches too but as the sweep second hand is in constant motion, you don't notice it. Don't let it concern you at all.

Nearly every quartz watch I own behaves this way, some way worse than others, though my newly acquired Citizen world time AT quartz nails them all the way around.

I have no reason to think that it’s anything out of the ordinary.

Thanks all! It’s been years since I really looked at a quartz watch, so I just wasn’t sure.

    Hi,

My opinion based on experiences: it's nothing to do with quartz or movement performance, it is the dial printing. The seconds indices themselves are misplaced and without the hand coming along at correct increments we would never notice.
