New watch arrived with slight condition flaw

    Hello Guys,

I have new watch arrived today and just noticed a physical condition flaw. Excuse me for my poor photography equipment.
The red arrow is shown a 1mm cut. It can be felt by finger nail. Not a hairline wear. Def not caused by me. I have been very careful. Since this watch is not easy to come by, I am not sure if the dealer has another one for me to exchange (JLC Thin Moon 39)...

Love the watch but not sure if I should keep it. This is suppose to be brand new.
I know brands you can sent watch in years later for "Full Service" and they can try their best to make the watch as brand new. Does a cut like this can be removed by service?
If it can, I am consider keeping it.

    Please advice, Thanks.

I'm assuming if it's a JLC it's not an inexpensive watch. I would expect perfection, so if it was me, I'd bring it back and request a replacement for sure.

Okay, so the same thing has happened to me with a brand new $4,000 watch. I immediately called the dealer and sent them pictures. They were great about getting me a new one. But I suggest you call the dealer right away, so they don't think you put that scratch there. A scratch, looks more like a gash, like that is completely unacceptable..

Hi, congrats on such a fine watch.
Now that you have noticed, I don't think you should just accept it, it will always be a bother.
    A replacement would be ideal.
It could be polished off, but at the cost of some of the original finish, which would be shame on a new watch.
It the watch can't be replaced I would leave it as is and perhaps try to negotiate compensation on the understanding that you will otherwise return the watch as damaged.

Seek replacement/refund... you should receive nothing but perfection.

Yes, it can be polished out, but on a brand new piece of this quality and cost it is not acceptable.

I'm in agreement. A JLC should have no flaws visible to the naked eye. However, I believe this can be polished out without too much trouble. Still, for your peace of mind and convenience, I'd notify the dealer right away and discuss your options there.

Return it. It is brand new and you should have a flawless product especially at the price you paid. You wont take delivery of a new car with a dent on the fender and a JLC costs about as much.

Not acceptable on a brand-new watch, regardless of cost. At this price level, doubly so.
