    new watch recommendations

    Hey Guys,

I'm thinking about getting a new watch. My budget is 500 dollars. A watch that is very versatile whether I am in a suit or dressed down in a t shirt and jeans.

Do you guys have any recommendations? I know that my criteria are very broad

    Thanks

    Hamilton, Seiko, Tag

several to choose from. I like a Seiko Sumo in that price range (or less).

    Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic 42mm

    - OR -

    Hamilton Khaki King Automatic 40mm

    - OR -

    Seiko SBDC001 "Black Sumo"
(might be a little out of place with a suit, but it's still a nice watch)

I notice that the Hamilton Khaki Auto has already been recommended - but I'll second it! Looks great, it's more than classy enough for a formal, suit and tie dinner, but also rugged enough to survive day to day use. I've had mine for a week or so, it's running 2-3 seconds fast per 24 hour time frame. Absolutely love it. 38 mm or 42mm - I picked up the former, and it looks perfectly proportional on my 6.5 inch wrist. 42 would have been WAY too big for me.

Mine has a brown leather strap, but it looks equally becoming with the metal bracelet.

There's a Sumo on the sales corner right now for $375. It's listed as Prospex 200m. Leaves you change for a Nato and a sweet leather strap.

Bernhardt Officer's model. For $500 you can buy two of them in different styles and some straps.

At that price point, I like my Debaufre Ocean-1's:

I have five of them, and they are a great value for the money.

I would go with this, and still have money left over for a Japanese diver...

Sumo's a great watch but not the best with a suit depending on how you dress.

If you want a dressier watch I really like the Stowa Antea

I think the blued hands version costs a bit more.
