    Newbie looking for advice

Hello everyone. I am new here. I have been having this wish to start a watch collection, however, I am on a budget. I have been doing some research and browsing around and I have a few watches that I have my sights on. I would really appreciate some feedback on the watches that I am seeking. And if anyone have any suggestions or recommendation of which watch I should be getting please feel free to do so.

So these are the watches I have in mind:
    -Seiko 5 snk809 black color
-Orient Bambino Gen 2 Version 2 (the one wit the roman numeral with the yellow dial and blue hands to be more specific.)
-Seagull 1963 Army Watch 19 or 21 zuan.
-seiko SRP761J2 (1st photo, the one with day and date display)
    -Seiko Presage SPB047J1 (2nd photo)
    -Tissot Ballade Powermatic 80
    -Junkers Bauhaus

Kindly info me if any of them should be out of the list and why and if anyone have any recommendations please do let me know.

    Welcome.

Ultimately you should get the one that speaks to you the most. The one that will put a smile on your face.

    Good luck

Welcome, some good watches you’ve picked out. Everyone is different and I’m certainly a quality over quantity man therefore personally I would buy the best two watches you can afford an all round dive watch and a dress type watch for all other occasions.

Presage. The lacquered dial is quite nice. Though if you can get one of the black dials with maki-e (Japan only) they're even better. I've only had one experience with Seagull but I've been quite unimpressed with the finish despite the love they get here (yes I'm well aware they are cheaper than the watches I usually dabble in. I've got cheaper watches that are better finished).

You’ve picked some really nice watches there. If one shouts louder to you than the rest then that’s the one for you.

    Welcome. They’re all solid choices.

Mine would go on the Presage, Bambino or the Zuan.

ive got a bambino, it’s a great watch. My only criticism is, for its style, it’s about 2mm too big

I just got the chance to visit the watch store. And I must say you are totally right. What looked good on the internet might not look and feel good on your wrist.

I went there looking forward to finally buying the Seiko 5 SNK809 black color. From what I have read and researched, this watch is very much respected and revered and some people say it is the ultimate watch to begin your collection. After seeing this watch and putting it on my wrist, though, I couldnt help but despise it. I kept trying to say to myself "but this is the ONE" "The one that is loved and revered in watchuseek by all beginners and veterans alike...u must be mad for not liking this." But try as I might i cannot help but hate how it looked on my wrist. I am sorry if I have caused offense or commited heresy. It may be a great watch but it just did nt look good in my wrist. After much browsing and looking around different brands I finally wound up buying two seiko watches:

Seiko Sarb065 Seiko Spb039j1 Not sure if they are Presage.

I just LOVE the dark blue hands on the spb039j1.

They are not the most photogenic watches but my god did they look and feel awesome on my wrist. I didnt take any pics of them on my wrist because it just doesnt do it justice. But it looked great and it felt great. The reason why i didnt get the seiko in the pic I posted earlier was because it was (understandably) sold out.

For me, I will get Seiko Presage with enamel dial and blue hands.
