    Newbie saying hello

    Hi all,

I have been reading for a while so I thought it was about time I joined and say hello and show of a couple of my watches.

    First up is my Parnis.

    Parnis 42mm Watch IWC Homage

Japan quartz movement with functional chronograph
Case diameter 42 mm without crown
    Brushed 316L stainless steel case
    Height 16 mm
Pusher button at 2:00 Starts/stops chronograph
Pusher button at 4:00 resets chronograph
    Running Second at:6:00 o'clock
    Chronograph minute at 12:00 o'clock
    Chronograph hour at 9:00 o'clock
    Scratch proof mineral glass

Next we have a 24hr Vostok 24 hours classic

The mechanism inside this watch is an anti-shock Vostok 2423 (Frequency: 19800 vph; daily rate from -20 to +60 s/day; power reserve min: 38 h) and the case is made of polished steel. The screws, glass rim and crown are very slightly tinted in gold. The luming is decent, but far from the super-luminova seen on Volmax watches. Curiously, while the brand name is written in Russian (Восток) along with “made in Russia” (сделано в России) on the face of the watch, it is written in English (Vostok – Russia) on the back.

Next we have agentlemans replica Rover 75 Vets watch styled on a 1940-50's look. This super historic styled replica watch uses a modern battery quartz movement, it has a mineral glass dial lense and a pleasing stitched strap in brown, the watch is a good size 4cm case from 3 to 9 and suitable to fit up to a 9 inch wrist. A nice watch with a refined vintage look with super sharp dial details featuring a 1949 vintage Rover 75 radiator badge and vetinary symbol all on an antique cream background topped off with a tiny red secondhand.

I'm still waiting for this one to turn up.

Vostok Russian Military AMPHIBIAN wrist watch

    - Automatic Vostok self-winding movement 2416B with 31 ruby jewels (no hands winding required, but You can wind up it with winding stem if You not carried the watch some time )
    - Water resistant up to 200 meters
    - Central second hand
    - Anti-shock balance
    - Screw-down winding head and back cover
    - Case diameter ( without the crown): 40 mm
    - Case thickness: 12 mm
    - Black leather strap ( can be changed to soft plastic if the buyer will ask for it )
    - Width of strap is 18 mm
    - Date-of-the month calendar
    - Graduated rotated bezel
    - Totally wound watches run not less than 31 hrs.
    - Graduated rotated bezel
    - Stainless steel rear cap
    - Luminous hands and markings

All the specs I have saved from the sales information so I hope it's all correct.

So what do you guys think of my little collection ?

Welcome to the forum. I like the Russian watches quite a lot.

    A warm welcome from Enfield.

The Rover 75 watch is unusual, is that Vet as in Veterinary or Veteran; where's it from?

    Hi guys,

    Thanks for the warm welcome.

The Rover 75 watch is a veterinary, I picked it up of a seller on EBay, be did have a few other styles of watch. If your interested ill dig out the sellers details when I get home.

The reason I went for this watch is I own a Rover 75 and I'm a admin on a Rover 75 MG ZT car forum.

    Cheers

Welcome to the forum Andy. Enjoy your stay here.
Why is the rover labelled veterinary? Just curious.

    Hi Guys,

I'm not sure why he does the themed watches the way he does, he got this one on his eBay shop at the moment
Which is GPO Telephones Morris Minor Watch,

His eBay name is square_bear87 and he's based in the UK..

The shop is nothing to do with me just passing on information.

    Happy shopping :)
