I have been laboring over this so I am turning to the brain trust for advice. I currently do not have a chronograph and I have the itch for one. I have a 6.75 in wrist so that has limited my options. I love IWC but the lugs are too long. I have narrowed it down to an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch or a Breitling Navitimer.
I currently have a Sub 16610, Breitling Colt II cream dial, an Oris Classic Date, Seiko skxa35 SKX013 and srp777. I have rethought how I want to go about collecting and I would like to get my collection to about 6 pieces.
1) Everyday wearer - My Submariner
2) Chronograph - ?
3) Dress - ? I have decided to move on from my Oris Classic Date. I love it but lug to lug it’s just a bit to big for me.
4) Beater -Seiko Srp777 and skx013 (yes I am listing two here. The Skx013 is smaller and on a bracelet so it’s perfect for vacations where I may need something that can go from beach to restaurants) I have also decided to sell my skxa35.
5) Flex - ?
6) Flex - ?
Questions I need opinions on are as follows:
-In all honesty I will probably end up with both but the second purchase may come further down the line so is subject to being put off or moved down the list. So which should I get with this purchase? I have never been so 50/50 on any decision.
If I go with Navitimer:
-Is the B01 movement worth pushing to a 43mm and spending more? I tried one on and it works but is absolutely the biggest I will go. The small curved lugs are to thank for making this look ok.
-Navitimer 1 with new logo or previous model with wings? The new 41mm Chrono is a great size but the lesser movement. I actually am a fan of the new logo so logo is not really a huge factor.
-Or should I go with Navitimer 8 blue dial 41 no Chrono and put it in a flex spot since I want some color and put the speedy in the Chrono slot?
Any thoughts on the matter would be much appreciated. Cheers!
