Next purchase help: Breitling Navitimer or Omega Speedmaster?

I have been laboring over this so I am turning to the brain trust for advice. I currently do not have a chronograph and I have the itch for one. I have a 6.75 in wrist so that has limited my options. I love IWC but the lugs are too long. I have narrowed it down to an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch or a Breitling Navitimer.

I currently have a Sub 16610, Breitling Colt II cream dial, an Oris Classic Date, Seiko skxa35 SKX013 and srp777. I have rethought how I want to go about collecting and I would like to get my collection to about 6 pieces.

    1) Everyday wearer - My Submariner
    2) Chronograph - ?
    3) Dress - ? I have decided to move on from my Oris Classic Date. I love it but lug to lug it’s just a bit to big for me.
    4) Beater -Seiko Srp777 and skx013 (yes I am listing two here. The Skx013 is smaller and on a bracelet so it’s perfect for vacations where I may need something that can go from beach to restaurants) I have also decided to sell my skxa35.
    5) Flex - ?
    6) Flex - ?

Questions I need opinions on are as follows:

-In all honesty I will probably end up with both but the second purchase may come further down the line so is subject to being put off or moved down the list. So which should I get with this purchase? I have never been so 50/50 on any decision.

    If I go with Navitimer:
-Is the B01 movement worth pushing to a 43mm and spending more? I tried one on and it works but is absolutely the biggest I will go. The small curved lugs are to thank for making this look ok.
-Navitimer 1 with new logo or previous model with wings? The new 41mm Chrono is a great size but the lesser movement. I actually am a fan of the new logo so logo is not really a huge factor.
-Or should I go with Navitimer 8 blue dial 41 no Chrono and put it in a flex spot since I want some color and put the speedy in the Chrono slot?

Any thoughts on the matter would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Seems to me that you have made your choice. Your questions a more towards multiple Navitimer options.

It really comes down to what you like the most.

I have a moonwatch in the mail, and can't wait for it. I chose it because it is a timeless classic with alot of history and character.

Both watches fit the bill in these regards.

For me, the Breitling just has too much going on. Its a lot to look at when you glance at it. On the same note it is an eye catching piece.

Reading your post, it seems as though you have made your choice. You just need to find which model Navitimer you want!

It seems you're into the breitling, personally I was too, chose it over the Omega years back. It is a watch that people recognize across the room, and to me is visually interesting. But again can't go wrong either way.

To your questions, is the B01 worth it, yep, Tudor likes it also, great power reserve, smooth as silk second sub dial, set the date without concern for the time. I like the wings, part of that iconic look but that's just me.

Would I buy a three hand Breitling 8 instead of the chrono, nope. I think the transocean line is nicer, and omega has some nice three hand options also. But again that's just me.

I’d say the new navitimer with simpler “B” logo with B01 movement. That’s just me, the speedmaster just doesn’t sing to me

In my view, the Navitimer is supposed to look a little 'full' on the wrist. That's it's style. So long as it wears comfortably you'll be fine.

But, as an alternative, you could try picking up a pre-owned previous gen Navi, ref A23322, with the Valjoux 7753 movement. It's a touch smaller at 41.8mm.

Another option out of left field: a Sinn 903. 41mm case. SW500 movement. 100m WR. It's another option.

But I'm guessing you're set on new, and set on a Brietling.

I’d say speedy but you seem more settled on the Brietling

    There’s always Daytona...

    Yes, the impossible-to-obtain Daytona!

And getting pre-owned is an option, but Sellers are asking for thousands (and I don't mean just two or three thousand dollars) of dollars over RRP.

I’d say of those 2 choices the Speedy. However I would also strongly consider a Zenith El Primero

safe and boring choice is the speedmaster, it's as mainstream as it can get just like the submariner.

With that said I love my speedys and subs.

The Navitimer is very nice as well, but the busy slideruler dial tense to need some getting used to/acquired taste.
