    No date dress watches?

For some reason it seems a lot of the dress watches I see have a poorly placed/colored date window. I love the clean layouts of my vintages, but would love a modern size. The worst offender I saw this weekend was the Mido Chronometer, it would be such a beautiful watch if they ditched the date.

Do I have any options that are in the affordable range? (I already have an Omega Speedmaster Pro...but it is more sporty).
Not as clumsy or as random as a cell phone. An elegant timepiece for a more civilized time.

By date placement are you talking about 6:00, 3:00, etc., ? Or distance from the bezel.

If the latter, that's a function of watchmakers using movements designed for 36 to 39mm cases in much larger cases. The date gets visually shoved toward dial center.

What do you consider an affordable range?

There are several no-date Nomos models with clean, white dials. Very 'dressy looking although I don't think they have a center seconds, just sub-seconds.

This is a classic French Michel Herbelin dress watch - with date I know - but it's sensible and well placed @6 and readable.

^ If we are getting into date dials - one of the best in the biz IMO
