    Confused Nomos strap discolouration

Bought a Nomos Tangomat GMT from an AD online and had it delivered...

Straps on the back looked worn out to me...

AD claims it's a new watch and had been in their display case for 5 months and apparently the Nomos straps usually gets this weird tinge.

There a couple of minor scratches on the watch... which adds fuel to my suspicion that these are used.

What do you guys think? Does anyone who own a Nomos see the strap do this? Just being in a display case - even been tried on a few times, I wouldn't expect it to look this way but having never owned a Nomos before - I can't say...

That's how black Shell Cordovan is supposed to look like at the back. The strap is not discolored at all and looks brand new to me.

If you want to know more Google "Horween leather" and "Ashland leather".

I'm surprised Nomos comes with an unlined leather strap though. The Shell Cordovan straps from Christopher Ward are much better finished than that.

Looks correct to me. The straps don't have a lining because the leather is so thick.

I have a Nomos sheet cordovan strap and it's the same. Its how the leather is, not used or worn.
