    Noob Question- Persona?

Hello all, first time poster, long time lurker here. Thanks to this Forum and a few friends, I've been slowly but surely falling in love with yet another collectible. Great.

That said, I had a watch epiphany when I found this Persona watch in a deceased relative's belongings a few years back. I don't know why, but it spoke to me. I love Art Deco, and there's a slight Art Decoish aspect to this watch that I really love. It's probably some cheap knock-off, but I have searched the Intertubes far and wide and can't find anything about it. I think it looks great on me, and I've gotten compliments from some random folks (apparently other watch-lovers!).

It's 40mm wide, has a convex lens and has been working beautifully since I had it cleaned, replaced the band (a thick leather one I picked up in Madrid) and put a new battery in it. Right now, I wear this as a daily watch and have a Movado for special occasions.

So the question is: what the heck do I have here?
    Thanks in advance!
    Cheers!

Is it just me ? Where is the Art Deco influence ? The dial with the inner 24h is a pattern which has been used since ages but not in Art Deco
    Kind regards

24 hour markers are common to military inspired watches whilst the hands resemble those of a pilots watch. However, those features are common on anything from a Timex Weekender to a Bell & Ross 123 vintage.

It's funny, in the pics it doesn't have the Art Deco aspect I was mentioning, but when looking at it here it does. Maybe the lens?

In any case, I love the look.

The military aspect makes sense as my uncle was a colonel in the US Army. But I'm still wondering about the brand.

Looks to me like a fairly modern quartz similar to Adee Kaye, Oniss or other similar Asian brand imported into the US. Probably some sort of Miyota quartz movement.

    It's really a shame that it's quartz.

I'm a little curious why you say that?

Again, apologies if that's a noob question, I'm still just starting the process of learning about watches.

Read all the threads here on WUS about MECHANICAL VS. QUARTZ and you will know or get a better understanding of the issue without opening a can of worms.
    Kind regards
