    NOS MIDO'S or Old MIDO's

People do not buy any Old or NOS Mido's 10 years old.
Unless you have access to Mido's parts that is.
I do not in the USA.
My trusty Mido 8269 Commander which I have had since 1995,
is now a dead piece of meat.
The Swatch Group/Mido will not service any time pieces over that age.
So if one takes it to a watch repairer and they crack the crystal taking it out or putting it back in you will not be able to replace it.
If anyone knows of any MIDO parts out there please reply.
Or anyone out there with a parts manual for these watches in need some part #'s for my 8269.
    Regards

Any good watchmaker will be able to replace a crystal, it's not difficult. My Lucien Piccard is on it's fifth one, it's a pop-top, check around.

Hmmm.. sorry about your experiences. My watchmaker seems to be able to handle the 7750 inside this Mido easily enough, and he could always have a piece a glass cut for it when the time comes.

I think you are overreacting to say nobody should purchase older Mido watches. You have some other possibilities to consider. A watchmaker will be able to replace a broken crystal, but if he can't source an original crystal it will be a replacement.

Have you contacted Mido in Switzerland? With Omega, which is another another Swatch Company the response to questions about repairs of older watches has ben quite positive.

Mido is at best a very small player in the USA and the Commanders were made for distribution in Asia. So, you could contact a dealer or distributor in asia. Contact could be made directly or through someone on either WUS or SCWF.
