Question Ok - New Battle! Panerai PAM 00164 v.s. Blancpains Fifty Fathoms!

I'm deep into my hunt for my new toy - just wanted some suggestions!

The Panerai PAM 00164 Stainless with brown alligator strap

    OR

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Red Gold with black bezel?

my love affair with Breitling has faded... they are eeeeverywhere!

Which is going to hold its value?

Define "holds its value" please. As well as a watch isn´t an investment a watch does not hold its value. The first sign of wear or sratch will influence its value. Vintage PP do hold their value but you have to invest 100.000 bucks. Also the very first Panerai watches will fetch exorbitant bids on internation auctions because they are very, very rare.
    I voted Blancpain again.

Speaking of everywhere, every time I turn on the tv some host or star is wearing a PAM.....but in the public I rarely see them where I live. I love the PAM 24, I would go Panerai. No problem with holding value as they already do, let alone gaining in popularity IMO. But they are both great watches, buy which ever one calls your name!!!!! Good luck.....

If you're looking for a watch people recognise, it's a Rolex or a Pan. If you like people asking you, "Is it real?", it's a Rolex or a Pan. If you want to have a nice watch without anyone recognising it, I'd go for 50 F. The red gold is really cool, esp the heft!

I wonder if these battles will turn into something like Jay Leno's, "Battle
    of the Jaywalk All Stars?"

I see many more Panerai than Navitimer Montbrillants. The Navi is a better looking watch too(Imho)

I would go with the Blancpain. PAM´s are becoming very "common" but you rarely see someone wearing a FF.

Out of these two I'd go with the PAM, but only because I sincerely dislike red gold watches. So I voted for "other", meaning you should go with the Blancpain but in stainless. Vintage would be best (high on my list).
