'One Watch' was supposed to save me money...

...so why do I keep spending money on straps?

The leather strap on my Sinn 556 is nice, but I wanted something more appropriate to the summer heat, so I got a nato. Then I decided on a Barton Elite silicone strap for the pool (and the colors even matched perfectly). Then Amazon suggested their canvas strap, which felt absolutely amazing and got me interested in Watch Gecko's canvas zulu straps. Then, while browsing, I discovered their mesh bracelet is on sale for 8 pounds! Can't pass that up a deal like that. But wait, do I want khaki canvas (which disappears into my skin), or black (which matches the dial)? Well, there's only one way to find out...

Click click click, and my there goes all my money. And that doesn't even count the stuff sitting in my shopping cart (but not yet submitted) at Blue Shark...

Straps can be very addicting... first hand experience. At least you haven't gotten into the high-end custom made leather straps... yet.
I have the Barton canvas too, very nice and comfortable!

It's a shame that the " canteen crown" isn't visible!!

    Yet.

As a general rule, I don't think I'll be getting any leather straps, as I'm honestly a little grossed out by how they absorb my sweat and can't be washed. I have the original Sinn straps in case I change my mind, but I'm most likely to pick up the fine link bracelet if I ever need to wear it with a suit. Also: I might soon be adding some perlon straps to the rotation, but I'm really digging the canvas. The black/crimson Barton Elite matches the red seconds hand on the black dial really well, but the canvas is the clear leader in terms of comfort. It's super comfortable, and I seem to get an evaporative cooling effect from the way it wicks sweat away from my skin. I'm going to try swimming with it this afternoon and see how it goes.

Simple solution: start buying NATO straps. Can't get a much cheaper way to change things up.
