Of course ocean racing is a rich mans sport, with professional crew and custom built boats, so the Rolex isn’t exactly free. Wizard also won the recent Rolex-sponsored TransAtlantic race and the 2018 Rolex-sponsored Newport-Bermuda race.

Rounding Fastnet Rock off Ireland, mid-point of the race. Black sails are carbon fiber, custom made at $20k+ a pop.

If I had to do all that might as well just buy the Rolex online with my own money and skip the getting outside bit ;)
    But I got your point.

If they give away steel sport Rolexes , this might actually be an easier way to get one 😜

If ocean sailing is a rich man’s sport that’s me out straight away.

You don't have to be rich to crew a boat. But you have to be good - especially if you want to win like these guys. And I suppose getting that good takes time and money that could otherwise be spent on watches (though that's like getting good at pretty much anything).
