The ones you miss the most

Sometimes I look back at pictures of my children when they were younger and I get sad. And then, because I have pics of my old watches interspersed with my family in google photos, this weird intermingling of nostalgia hits me as I look at photos of my old Breitling transocean that I sold months ago. Ever happen to you? Which watches do you miss the most? Include pics!

The transocean. This one surprised me when I tried it on at tourneau and I immediately hunted the date only version down. If it was 2mm smaller I might still have it.

The OVM was one of my first quality watches. I sold it, rebought it, and sold it again. It it was 2mm smaller I might still have it (this is true for like half the watches I’ve sold). But they did just make a 39mm version....

The Navy pioneer. Bought it, sold it, bought it again, sold it again. I get enamored with pics of white dialed dressy pieces. I just rarely wear them when i have them!

The sm300. Just so awesome on that bond NATO. But I love at AR on my smpc...

I miss my old SMP 2541.80 beater. That watch was put through a lot. And even though I got an identical replacement, the fact that the new one is all nice and shinny just keeps me from using it as beater.

Haha that is ironic. In the guitar world they sell “relic” version that have been tastefully beat up. I wonder what entrepreneur in the watch world will jump on that idea first...

I've sold a lot of watches, and miss a lot of them, but off the top of my head the highlights are these. I don't regret selling them, I keep a small collection so something had to go, but they were awesome and I miss them.

    Hmm.
There are pangs for almost every watch I've had, but only some where I'm sometimes seriously considering re-obtaining them.

The spring-green Stowa b2b, for sure. I really miss that watch.

Every now and then, I also miss the Stowa MO. Frankly, it *was* too large for my wrist, but I still kinda miss that watch. Best hand-winding feel ever, too.

And the weirdest one might be the brass (probably...) Steinhart Ocean 1 "Bronze". I first bought it while staying in Germany for a bit last year, then sold it off later, then re-bought another one a little bit back, then re-sold it again, and now I'm considering that maybe I should have held onto it... If I could "Lock" the patina in at a "one month" stage and keep it there forever, I'd get a third one asap.

thankfully I've only been into the hobby for five years, the only watches I've gotten rid of so far were intro watches like a g shock, seiko, vostok, and timex. I've yet to get rid of a truly high end watch, but I could see it eating at me one day
