    Opinion on Maurice Lacroix automatics?

I was at a local store recently and they have some Maurice Lacroix automatics that really caught my eye. These were not from the Masterpiece line (those are too pricey for me). Just a day/date automatic.

Are these good watches? Or, would I be better off with a Hamilton or Tissot? I guess the real question is what would I get for the extra money?

    All opinions appreciated.

    TIA

The Masterpiece collection is kinda state of the art. The other models are indeed comparable with Oris, Longines. The lower price segment (499 Euro to 999 Euro) can be compared with Tissot. They provide an overall good quality.

The one I was looking at was priced at $825 US. That is almost double the MSRP price of the Tissot automatic. What would be the advantage of the Lacroix?

Sorry for the newbie question, just trying to make sense of this.

Don't get me wrong, but to compare we should really know what the competitors are. Please name exact model name or reference number. Naming "ML" and "Tissot automatic" does not help that much imho. It's like comparing NOKIA and SAMSUNG.

Well, the Tissot I was considering is the Ballade III automatic. I believe the Lacroix is one of the Pontos Day/Date models (don't have the exact model). Hope this is the information you need.

I have a Calendrier Retrograde and I love this watch and some of their others. I think they may offer a little bit more on the finish aspect than Tissot. They are great looking watches. I hope to get one of the new ones with the in-house movements.
