    Opinions on Girard Perregaux?

I've got the affordable watch bug out of my system (Oakley Judge, Seiko Black Monster), now I'm looking around for my next "good" watch.

My local Ben Bridge Timeworks still has a few of the Girard Perregaux Ferrari watches for sale, I heard that these are no longer made as Ferrari is now contracted with Panerai. I like the looks of the GP watches, but I don't know much about them. I did a search, but I came up with no opinions on the GP watches in general. Good quality? Overpriced? What do you think?

Excellent watches, spicy prices, not wide spread. If you can afford go for it !

Just think about how silly it might look having a Ferrari watch but driving a "Pinto". Somehow i think it's only cool to have when you actually drive Ferrari If not you can better stick with a normal Perregaux.

    Or even worse...
Ferrari is a brand that will last so if you're a fan it will always be ok. But think about the Oris Ralf Schumacher Williams, he doesn't drive for Williams anymore. That sucks :-D

Well, my WRX is not exactly a Pinto, but it ain't a Ferrari either - point well taken. The good thing is that G-P didn't throw everything out when their contract with Ferrari ended; I believe that they make some of the same (or very similar) watches, just without the prancing horse. I don't know if I can afford the prices that G-P's command, but it's nice to have something to shoot for.
