Opinions Needed on two divers watches..

    Hi All WUS members..

    I'm currently looking at the
Pseudo-Ruhla Automatic Date Combat Diver & British SBS Satin ETA Automatic Divers Watch from Ebay store Military Watch Mall.

Comparing the prices vs the specs of these watches, they look like super good deals to me...

What's your opinion on these watches and does anyone here own any of them?

    Cheers,
    togokm

If you like it go for it but it´s still a pseudo watch. The real Ruhla looked a bit different and runned on quartz.

    Hi togokm,

I don't own any of the autos from Ray, but I do own 3 of the quartz models. They make good daily beater watches and I like mine a lot.

I myself have 3 of Ray's quartz divers - nice watches, I consider them "fun" watches. I wear them where the "good" stuff should not go - the overchlorinated pool for example.

The psuedo-Ruhla is a rather large watch, 45mm x 52mm. The case is actually an inprovement on the original; the originals were plated base metal, these are stainless steel. The RN Diver's are pretty much the same size and shape of the original CWCs. Both automatics are powered by a standard grade ETA 2824-2.

The only real downside of these watches is the luminous material is rather weak. The MoD style dial are the best of the lot (as the area covered by the luminous paint is the greatest) and adequate, if just barely.
