Confused Opinions on a Questionable King Seiko?

Hi, folks, just a quick inquiry among you Seiko experts (humbly request even dumb scratch-one's-head input) regarding a King Seiko before I spring for it (hopefully cheap).
The gold bezel has corrosion spots - I can live with that, maybe even buff them out - but the reticulated finish on the rotor (see photo), as well as filing marks, worries me.
    It's a Vanac Special 5246A - 6030. Opinions, pleeeeese...?

I think that example is too nasty. I will pass this one. :)

Well I wonder how high I might go (it's in an auction) as a "mechanic's special" - I have a good repair person - in order to restore this poor foundling to its former glory?
The blue face & hands appear untouched by the years.

Go to Main Forums...scroll down to Seiko & Citizen Forum, ask them.

What you call the reticulated finish on that rotor looks more like heavy corrosion that has been buffed. I would not be surprised to find that this is a marriage of parts. A full restoration to it's former glory could be an expensive project.

I would avoid that. I find it questionable that rotor and the rest of the movement seems to be in very different conditions.

Speaking as a long-time biker, this watch sounds like a leaking 250 Honda Rebel mill placed in a Suzuki Hayabusa.
The other way around, however (a pumped-up movement in a cheap case), as with my V8 Monster Miata, might have given me pause...
Thanks for the input; I believe I'll withdraw my bid on this one.
