    Orbita Sparta arrived!

My Orbita Sparta (2-watch) model arrived this afternoon.

Now I can finally rotate my 3 Glycine Airman's without strapping each to various appendages before going to bed to keep them wound :-D

    Sorry, it's my first winder...

Will post some comments after a few days in case anyone is also thinking about getting a Sparta 2.

    regards,

Very nice! BTW, Orbita has a special on the Sparta 1 Deluxe (calfskin exterior, glass window, etc.) http://www.orbita.com/pages/15000.htm. I just ordered another one

Re: Orbita Sparta 2, User comments

I've had the Orbita Sparta 2 for a few days now, here are some comments:

Note: These are my own impressions and preferences, so ymmv...

Looks: I really like it. I got the black pebble-grained covered version. Understated and unobtrusive.

Ease of use: Very easy; just pop in the batteries, adjust for 10-min or extended (15-min) intervals, turn it on and off you go. Cushion and the entire module pop in and out easily.

Suitable for larger watches: yes. No problem with 46mm glycine or 37mm watch.

Quietness: Ok. I have this next to my bed. Since it is not a traditional rotating winder, it only goes around once every 10 minutes, after which each module swivels (swings) via its own momentum. There is an audible click on each cycle. Not loud, but you can hear it if you are a light sleeper.

That's all I can think of at the moment. I like it because I don't have to worry about the number of winds and direction, etc. Will probably pick up another one with my next watch purchase.

Hope this is useful to anyone thinking about getting one.

I have 2 of the same winder and in relation to the other cheap one I have had these are just superior.
