Oris Artelier Date vs Mido Multifort Datometer

    Hi!
I would like to buy one of these as a dress watch. Prices are fairly similar. Which one would you choose and why? Or, if you think there's something better than these two at this price, you're free to leave a suggestion.

I'll leave some photos below and also a poll.

I think the Oris hands down. The unique interwoven pattern looks so beautiful.

Since you seem to like the Mido pointer date, have you considered the Oris pointer date? I don't like the text on the Mido dial, especially the smiley "Super-Automatic" on the bottom, whatever that even means. The Oris Pointer Date is a fairly iconic Oris piece and far better looking in my opinion.

If it has to be between the two examples you provided though, I'd go with the Artelier. I've owned one and they're great value. The only complaint I ever had was the deeply set date window without any border. It just looked strange to me.

I'm not into that dark colored dial, to be honest. I prefer light colored ones

I like the Mido but not in rose gold.

Either brand is a great buy, IMHO.

There isn't a stainless steel version of that watch from Mido. But I actually dig that rose gold, it's a classy watch

The Mido is a nice looking watch but when it learned that it was up against the Oris I’m surprised it didn’t just stay in bed.

So should I go with the Oris?

You should go with whichever you prefer stylistically. You will find supporters of both brands and the Oris Big Crown Pointer would certainly be the perfect option (if it wasn't for the dial color as you indicated), however Oris is a terrific brand and I am a proud owner of a different Oris model with an interest in the Big Crown Pointer. Additionally, the Artelier fits more of the classic dress watch style if that is what you are going for.
