Oris Classic Date 37mm vs 40 mm

EDIT: Made a mistake in the thread name, its 37mm vs 42mm

After taking a few watches into consideration (https://forums.watchuseek.com/f2/need...m-4566923.html)
I decided to go with the Oris Classic Date.
    https://www.jomashop.com/oris-watch-...7-5-20-11.html

I have a 6,5 inch wrist. I wish the Oris would come also in 40 mm, but unfortunately ther is only a 37mm and a 42 mm version.
I have a 36mm Strela, but it looks a bit too small on my wrist.
Woul 37mm be ok for casual every day wear?
or should I go with 42 mm?

Here is a pic of my Strela (36mm) on my wrist:

I don’t think 37mm would look too small on you but 42mm MIGHT look too big.

37mm is definitely the way to go, by a long shot.

42 would be comically too big. While 37 might not be your ideal, it's the best option. And you'll probably grow to like the size.

37mm is fine. 42mm will be wearable of course - but it won't be an optimal "fit" and it'll look like you're trying a little too hard to impress others. And that Strela definitely does not look too small on your wrist.

In your picture, your 36 does not look too small at all (but your strap looks way too tight)--definitely OK on 37, and absolutely no way you could pull off a 42.

I also agree that the 37 would be the correct choice. For this type of watch, less is more. I have a bigger wrist and a Tangente 35mm that I prefer to the 38mm. Also, don’t discount the length of the lug to lug width. Overhang is not a good look.

    Hi all,

I recently picked up a mint used example in a 42mm... The watch quality was faultless but I couldn't bond with it. IMO the 42mm wears very large and as a 'dress' watch the size is too big. I flipped mine pretty soon after purchasing... 37mm will be a spot on size!

Guys, thanks a lot for your advice!
I will buy the 37 mm version.
Also if somebody knows similar looking watch to the Oris in 38-40 mm size please feel free to share here.
