OT: Swiss Army Automatic question: is it ETA or no?

I found SwissArmy Ambasador automatic for a good price, I even like the looks, it's 100M WR, saphire cristal and "DAY" at the 12'o clock (date is at 6 o clock).

It's a swiss decorated 25 jewel movement and I'm trying to find out if this is ETA movement or no. Is there an ETA movement with DAY of the week at 12 o clock?

From a longlivety I'd preffer ETA than something else.

    Help appriciated.

If it is an ETA (which I cannot judge) it´s an ETA 2836:

    Produced since 1972, different date positions (6 and 3), day at 12, 28 800 A/h
power reserve 49 Stunden, jewels:25, height 5,05 mm, diameter 29,0 mm.

Thanks a lot for info Mike.

I understand why my topic was moved to different forum but it was put here for a reason. This is where ETA gurus are spending their time (and money) LOL

    :)

Du no why but this watch reminds me somehow on Bathys... simple, elegant, and just a "bit" overstated. Lots to like. (Not a Bathys I agree wich is even more elegant but this one is cheaper too...)

I love when I answer my own question but moderator helped big time.

See trough case back helped a lot here...

    http://www.timedesign.de/uhrwerke/eta_2836.html

is exactly the same that I have in my watch and I was comparing it for good 10 min... so it is eta 2836-2 after all.

I'm delighted now. Defenetly a keeper.

    Cheers and thanks again.

    P.S.

Still wonder why would they not advertised it on their page. In my humble opinion this is a major selling point to a lot of people and yet they would only say it's "swiss automatic". Puzzling.

I confirm it's an ETA 2836 for Ambassador 42 mm / ETA 2892 A2 for Ambassador 32 mm / ETA Valgranges A07.211 for Ambassador XL Chrono 45 mm / ETA 6497 for Ambassador XL.

The page is not finished but all will be here later
