    Overbuffed 6309-7040 case or not?

    Dear Fellow WIS,

Need your inputs on whether this 6309-7040 case in the pictures can already be considered overbuffed or can still fall within acceptable standards.

    Thanks!

Any opinions would be much appreciated as I am deliberating on whether to bite the bullet on this one or not... Thanks!

Needs a rubber strap to make it work.

Well, it looks like it's lost all edge definition, and the lugs are visibly shorter than the supposedly-matching steel bracelet endlink. It will, of course, depend on every person's own interpretation; for me, that would be way, way, way overbuffed.

It does not look horrible. A different strap would rectify the minor nit about the lugs/endlink misalignment. I would not pay premium for it, though.
Take a look at this for comparison: http://wornandwound.com/2014/07/07/a...ge-seiko-6309/

Way overdone and looks like a soft pillow. Looks like someone hit it with a big buffing wheel and rounded all the edges off. Then gave it a brushed finish. It would have been better to either leave it alone or just minimize the worst scratches.

Thanks to all for your opinions!
Now, is the one in the pictures below any better? It's a different one, FYI...

I almost think that the second one looks worse, like the buffed pillow mentioned before; no definition to edges and just a blob effect overall. Is you objective to get a classic watch in near new condition? Or just to get a cool watch that doesn't look butchered?
