    Paint on sapphire crystal.....

I got a couple specs of spray paint on the watch crystal; whats the verdict on a cleaner to remove paint?

    Thanks

Use your fingernail, should come of easily if it specs and not smeared.

I'm no expert or even close to it, but I would think a fingernail would do the trick. I figure it would just scratch off. I wouldn't take anything sharp to it either. Perhaps a pop sickle stick if your fingernail doesn't work.

If the speck is stubborn & it truly is sapphire, you can use the flat edge of a razor blade to scrape it off. Like squeeging glass with the blade edge leading. They use this method when you get your car windshield chip repaired. You could also use a credit card. Or you could use a solvent.
I just think that things should work the way I expect them to.

Has the crystal been AR coated?
If yes - be very careful with any solvents
If no - acetone will work superwell.

A credit card or drivers license should do the trick.

Other abrasives can scratch sapphire, including sapphire.

There shouldn't be good adhesion between the sapphire and paint. It should come off easily, after it's thoroughly dry.

Let us know what you did to get it off and good luck.
