PAM, PAM everywhere! On Big Screan

I love Panerai and hope to own one someday, am I the only one noticing them all over in movies and tv land. I guess it is the "cool" watch to own, here is the short list off the top of my head:

Glen Beck - do not watch but caught a glimpse channel surfing
Dirty Sexy Money - the kid who is pretending to be a painter
Private Practice - wife's show, anyway Tye Diggs

I only mention these because they are shows currently running, obviously lots of movies. Just wanted to know if I was the only one noticing these much more frequently these days?

I have noticed it too. Even on the Real Housewives of Orange County (I dont watch this show... ) one of the men has a nice Rose Gold Pam on his wrist. Couldn't see the model though.

Your right I forgot about that one, I do watch it! It is to over the top not to watch, only wish Jo Jo was around this season. Make fun of me all you want because those people are screwed up and makes great tv.

I believe that "Horatio Caine" of CSI: Miami has been shown wearing one.

We're (finally!) getting Ewen McGregor and Charley Boorman in Long Way Round on free-to-air TV in Australia. Ewen wore a Panerai in that; Boorman wore a Submariner Date.

I completely understand why Panerais are so popular but I am not fully sold on them.

I like what they are doing with the newer models with in-house movements to justify the high price, but I have a long list of watches ahead of the Panerai (JLC being one).

    Cheers,

IIRC I think Ewan was wearing a 112 (it's been spotted before on kevlar in a rainforest documentary he did). I also saw what I believe was a 104 on OEM rubber on the wrist of the brother in "Keeping up with the Kardashians" (don't ask; it was on, I watched it). As an aside, I dunno about anyone else, but between this show and "Real Housewives", I'm thinking it's time to turn my PAM in... I mean, let's face it, these folks are bona fide, 100% Grade A cheeseballs.

As for the real big screen (i.e. movies), PAMs have been on the scene for years, starting with Sly Stallone in "Daylight". In fact, it was during the shooting of this film on a soundstage in Italy, that Sly "discovered" the brand. After becoming smitten with the the Base he picked up -- the same one he insisted on wearing in the film -- he went out and bought a boatload of them to give to friends as gifts (friends like Arnie...). The rest, as they say, is history...

    Regards,
    Adam

PS - In terms of screen time, however, I still think the mighty G-Shock is the champ...

Re: PAM, PAM everywhere! On Big Screan

I see Panerai's all the time around town - way too often. Seems I spot one every week or two. And now seeing them on tv too- don't forget Bill Clinton in that Hillary ad in the diner. For me this is a negative. I really like the Panerai styling, but it's way, way too common for me, so I will not buy one. On the other hand, I have yet to see an Anonimo, Doxa, or Enzo on any body's wrist but mine.
